A number of manufacturers have entered the market with
fluorescent lighting fixtures for video and photography. Some work well; some are just weak attempts
to incorporate compact fluorescents into existing fixtures. Really functional
fluorescent light banks have been available, but the cost has kept many folks
from putting fluorescents to work for them.
Amvona.com has introduced a line of fluorescent light banks under the
Dynaphos brand at value prices; from just under $200 to just over $300 on their
web site. I have gotten a hold of one of
them to review and I think you will like what I found.

 A high definition camcorder that records over an hour of video onto an inexpensive solid state memory card, takes 5 MP still pictures with a internal flash, and fits in you shirt pocket may sound like a dream of the future, but Aiptek is working to make that a reality today for less than $300. The latest unit doesn't give you even close to professional results but, for a quick draw, don't miss that family memory camcorder, it is a nice addition to the market. Think of it along the lines of the disposable film cameras we used to get from the drug store and keep handy. So, let's get down to the review ...
When the Aiptek GO_HD camcorder started to appear on internet retail sites for $217, some educators and hobbyists became very excited. Consumer reviews began to show up amazed at the high definition picture that it output. I thought that it was time that a professional take the camcorder for a test drive and see how it measured up.

With summer quickly approaching, my mind was turning to the job of preparing for the coming school year. Next year, another 150 students will be waiting for instructions. Nothing gives clear instructions to students or a production crew like a good set of storyboards. If I wanted my students to learn to use the power of storyboards, I needed to start from the beginning by communicating to them with storyboards.
